Understanding your accreditation

Not all certificates are equal — here's what our accreditations actually mean, in plain English.

Our accrediting bodies

CPD-accredited vs awarding-body-regulated

Many of our shorter eLearning courses carry CPD (Continuing Professional Development) accreditation. This confirms the course content and training hours meet an independent quality standard — it's widely recognised, but it isn't a regulated qualification.

Other courses are accredited by a specific awarding or membership body (such as Highfield, SIA, IOSH, CITB or BIIAB), which may carry more formal recognition within a particular industry or role — for example, an SIA-linked course required for a licence application.

We'll always tell you which type of accreditation applies on the individual course page, so you know exactly what you're getting before you book.
